Portfolio: Example 1

Problem
This room needed to be pulled together. The furniture was lined up against the walls resulting in a fragmented, unfinished look that didn’t function well. The wolf-themed painting wasn’t right for the room and the wall ledge made the room appear cluttered.

Solution

To create the needed intimate conversational seating arrangement, the foundation was set by placing both sofas at a diagonal in the room facing one another and pulling in the matching occasional chairs. Moving the oriental chest opened up the room and it became a great base to highlight the clients beautiful Asian ceramics and wall figures. The chest is still accessible from both sides of the sofa and it makes an interesting focal point in the new, layered background. A dramatic display of accessories and plants finished the room giving it interest and sophistication.
